Volunteer Recognition

Each year we recognize volunteers who make a difference in the lives of older adults.

The Volunteer of the Year award is presented to an outstanding volunteer who made a significant contribution to the organization and the older adults we serve. The volunteer is committed to our mission of reducing isolation and loneliness among the elderly through friendship and service. The volunteer demonstrates a generous spirit, positive outlook, and is supportive of the older adults we serve.

The Ambassador of Goodwill represents someone who selflessly serves older adults with dedication through our core programs.

LBFE honors volunteers in categories that recognize multiple traits of service.

  • Leadership – Capable and willing to take a leadership role and is willing to mentor and train other volunteers.

  • Above and Beyond – Goes beyond the normal expectations of a volunteer assignment with or without direction.

  • Count on Me – Is dependable and make themselves available for assignments whenever their help is requested.

  • Spirit – Brings an energetic spirit and joy to every assignment and the people they volunteer with.

Awards are presented every year at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic in July.
