Ways to Give

LBFE relies on the support of private donations and we do not receive state or federal funding. Your support is vital to our success and you make it possible for us to dispatch over 1,100 volunteers to make meaningful interactions with over 1,500 older adults each year.

PROGRAM SUPPORT

Donations to our annual campaigns support our everyday mission as we deliver vital programs and services that promote friendship. Our annual campaigns allow us to continue our vital Medical Transportation program that provides door-through-door rides to healthcare appointments. Easter and Christmas campaigns provide an opportunity for lonely older adults to visit with their peers over at traditional and delicious holiday meal. Firewood keeps the homes of our friends warm through our long and cold winters.

monthly donations

Monthly donations help us sustain our everyday work to mobilize volunteers who serve older adults through our seven core programs.

As a member of the Monthly Giving Program, you will receive regular stories so you can see the impact of your donations.

Your monthly gift can be automated online through automatic bank withdrawal (ACH), by credit card, or we accept checks payable to LBFE. Return envelopes are available for your convenience upon request.

memorials & honoraria

Remember a loved one, recognize a special friend, or honor a special occasion by making a donation in their name. We will notify the family or the honoree of your generous gift in their name.

You can go a step further to create a permanent memory by purchasing a Legacy Tile that will be mounted on our Wall of Honor.

matching gifts

Employer matching gift programs allow you to team up and combine your employee benefit and donation to LBFE to make a greater impact. If your employer matches gifts, your donation can be doubled or even tripled. â€‹Check with your employer today about matching your donation to LBFE.

Create your own matching gift challenge with friends and family. For every dollar donated, you can match their donation up to your specified limit.

non-financial gifts
&
fundraisers

Non-Financial donations in-kind reduce our direct costs and keep expenses manageable. LBFE accepts non-perishable everyday food staples for our food pantry, office supplies, vehicles, traditional holiday food and homemade bakery for our holiday meals, firewood, party supplies, floral arrangements and medical aid equipment like walkers, wheelchairs, and commodes.

Team up with your coworkers, employers, student groups, recreational groups, and civic groups to support LBFE. Proceeds raised from fundraisers like food drives, bake sales and Jeans Friday can support the everyday work of LBFE.

gifts of stock

Maximize your support by gifting your tax-deductible long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds. Your donation will benefit our everyday work of providing friendship, programs, and vital services to the older adult community in Upper Michigan.
